The Elebele Bridge is a bridge in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. The bridge, which crossed a major creek, connected several communities in the Bayelsa East Senatorial District conveying the three local government areas of Ogbia, Nembe and Brass to Yenagoa.
The bridge was first constructed in 1986 with wood and iron by the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited.
And was said to have broken in 1989 and was not reconstructed till 1990 before it collapsed again on Thursday 5th September 2019 under the heavy weight of two heavy-duty trucks that were conveying chippings to a building site in the area.
After much suffering and calling on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by the residents of the area,
The NDDC came to their aid by constructing a temporal wooden bridge which they claim cost 2.3 billion naira .
